The Man who knew Infinity is about Srinavasa Ramanujan (Dev Patel), a young Indian from Madras who is a self-taught mathematics genius. GH Hardy (Jeremy irons) an eminent professor at Trinity College invites him to Cambridge to explore his theories. He leaves his family and beloved bride for a new world where his ideas revolutionise mathematics and transform how scientists explain the world. The film deals with the maths impressively and with the cultural and personal shock sensitively.
We have also arranged with the Rose and Crown for another pre-film supper for just £12 a head.
They are offering the following menu:
Soup of the Day or Goats cheese and caramelised red onion tart
Giant Yorkshire with lincolnshire sausages, mash, peas and onion gravy
Chicken and bacon tagliatelle and garlic bread
Veg and Stilton crumble with mash, peas and veggie gravy
Please phone Collette or Tom on 01347 811111 by Tuesday 14 February to place your order. The meal will be served from 6pm onwards. Doors open at the Village Hall at 7.30 for the bar and the showing will start at 8 pm.
