We do hope as many of you can join us as possible, even if you can only give up 1 hour of your time. We only take on tasks that are within the skills of the average DIYer or gardener but rely on community support to keep the space looking and functioning at its best. Without support we will either need to spend money employing trades to carry out these tasks or the space and equipment will deteriorate. Tasks for this year include cutting back any vegetation, repairs to the goal post at the barbecue end of the pitch and applying timber treatment to the picnic benches and seating.
If you are able to lend a hand please bring any basic gardening tools (cutters/loppers, rake, etc..) or any battery or petrol operated hedge trimmers and, of course, some gloves! Even if you are not able to help but would be willing to lend any tools, particularly battery or petrol operated hedge trimmers, then this would be appreciated as, if we do get a good number of volunteers then we may be limited if we don’t have the equipment. If you are able to attend and bring any equipment, or just willing to lend any equipment, please contact me so we can gauge what might be achievable on the day.
