Blood Pressure check
Hypertension (high blood pressure) is known as the silent killer as there are often no obvious symptoms. Many people have no idea that they have it.
A Surgery Nurse Associate will be on hand to check your blood pressure.
This is a great opportunity have a check without the need for an appointment at the Surgery.
Easingwold District Community Care Association (EDCCA)
Members of EDCCA will be on hand to talk you through the type of support available like Community car scheme, Minibus trips to various destinations, Befriending scheme, Meals on Wheels, Carers respite sitting service, Shopping and collecting prescriptions, many clubs and support for other issues.
Social Prescribing/Urgent Care
A member of the Personalised Care Team or Urgent Care team will be on hand.
What is Social Prescribing? A fully encompassing approach to wellbeing, social prescribing starts with a conversation about what matters to you. Factors such as money worries, social isolation, bereavement and managing long term conditions can affect wellbeing, social prescribing connects you to support that can address these difficulties and build on your strengths.
NHS App and Surgery Website
PPG Members and/or Surgery staff will be available to show what you can get, do or see things relating to your health with the NHS App and help you to navigate Stillington Surgery Website.
Please bring appropriate ID to get your personal password issued by Surgery staff. Also, if you bring your Smart phone or tablet, you can be set up with the App on the day.
No-one other than you will have access your personal data.
Men’s Sheds
A member of Easingwold Men’s Sheds will be on hand to describe how, when and where Easingwold Men’s Sheds operates. Men’s sheds are primarily aimed at, but not exclusively for, retired men who wish to rebuild social connections.
Other subjects
Supported by PPG members, other stalls with information on Bereavement Support, Diabetes, Men’s Health, York Against Cancer, Carers Plus and other health subjects will be available.
A private room is available should you wish to discuss something in confidence with one of the team.
