1st Moxby Moor Scout Group

Who are we?

We are your local Scout troop offering a full range of activities to all children aged 5 ¾  to 14 years.

Where are we?

We are based at Stillington Sports Club, but our scouts come from many surrounding villages.

Who can join?

Anyone who is aged 5 ¾ to 14 can join as a young person and take part in the adventures, and any adult over 18 can get involved in a leadership role.

What do the Young People get to do?

We offer a mixture of skill-based activities, fun activities, and camps that can vary from a night in a hammock, a weekend away learning how to pitch tents and cook on open fires to all-out adventure weekends jumping out of trees, throwing axes, learning to shoot and making friends for life.  The older sections even get the chance to have to a full week abroad each year.

What is in it for the adult leaders? 

You can develop your personal talents, learn new skills, be part of a fabulous team, challenge yourself, help with organisation, take part in camps and activity weekends, nurture young people to fulfil their potential, and be part of something truly amazing.

When do the young people meet?

The youngest age group are the Beavers, they are aged 5 ¾ to 8 years old and meet on Monday evenings.  Cubs is the next section, for ages 8 to 10 ½,  meeting on Wednesday evenings.  Our third section is the Scout section, for ages 10 ½ to 14, meeting on Thursday evenings.
